The Creativity Strikes campaign for Crayola Washable Markers addresses parental skepticism about whether markers are truly washable. The design challenge was to build trust while reinforcing creativity and self-expression. The target audience is parents of young children who value creativity but worry about mess and stains. The concept reframes “mess” as a joyful expression, showing creativity striking dad asleep on the couch. Bold color splashes, playful compositions, and unexpected surfaces highlight unconventional use and help the ads stand out. By combining expressive visuals with the reassurance of washability, the campaign encourages kids to create freely while giving parents confidence that the mess will wash away easily.
