Kinship is a tablet app concept designed to support reminiscence therapy for individuals living with dementia. The design challenge was to improve cognitive engagement, emotional well-being, and connection with loved ones through an accessible digital experience. The target audience includes people with dementia, caregivers, and family members seeking meaningful ways to trigger memories and encourage interaction. The design focuses on a simple, user-friendly interface with intuitive navigation, calming visuals, and familiar content such as photos, music, and stories. Thoughtfully organized screens and sensory cues promote engagement without overwhelming users. By combining memory-centered content with an empathetic visual hierarchy, Kinship meets the project goals by fostering connection, encouraging conversation, and supporting emotional comfort.
